Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Fly Learn LLC, an Idaho limited liability company (“Company,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use IDA Math at idamath.com (the “Service”). We designed the Service for classroom use with minimal student data.

1. Who this applies to

  • Teachers / school staff — accounts they create for themselves.
  • Students — accounts created by teachers (students do not provide email addresses to register).
  • Parents / guardians — may request access or deletion through the school or teacher.

2. Information we collect

Teacher / admin accounts may include:

  • Name, username, email (if provided), password (stored hashed).
  • School or class association and role (teacher, teacher admin, etc.).

Student accounts typically include:

  • Display name and username chosen by the teacher.
  • Password set or reset by the teacher (stored hashed).
  • Class membership and assigned practice packets.
  • Practice results, scores, and progress related to math packets.

We do not require student email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, or government IDs to use the core Service.

Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) may be collected for security and reliability.

3. How we use information

  • To operate the Service (login, assignments, progress, printing packets).
  • To support teachers in managing their classes.
  • To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • To communicate with teachers about the Service when needed.

We do not sell student or teacher personal information.

4. How information is shared

  • Within the school context: Teachers see data for students in their class; teacher admins may manage teachers under them.
  • Service providers: Hosting and infrastructure providers that process data only to run the Service.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.

We do not use student data for targeted advertising.

5. Student privacy (COPPA / FERPA context)

The Service is intended for use under the direction of schools and teachers. Teachers create student accounts and control usernames and passwords. Schools remain responsible for complying with FERPA, COPPA (where applicable), and their own policies regarding parental notice and consent.

We treat student education data as confidential and use it only to provide the educational Service described above.

6. Voluntary use and opt-out

Use of IDA Math is voluntary. Parents/guardians may request that a student not participate or that the student’s account and related data be deleted. Please contact the student’s teacher or school first; they can remove the account or request deletion from us.

7. Data retention and deletion

  • We keep account and progress data while the account is active and as needed to provide the Service.
  • Teachers or schools may request deletion of a student or teacher account.
  • Upon a verified deletion request, we will delete or de-identify personal account data within a reasonable time, except where we must retain limited information for security, legal, or backup purposes.

To request deletion, email [email protected] with the school name, teacher name, and student username(s). We may need to verify the request through the school.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures (including hashed passwords and access controls) to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Schools and teachers should use strong passwords and keep login cards secure.

9. Children’s privacy

Student accounts are created by teachers for educational use. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 for marketing purposes. Parents who have questions should contact the teacher or school, or email us as above.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies so the Service works: keeping you logged in, securing forms, and remembering your session. These cookies are necessary for the site to function and do not require separate consent under typical US school-use rules.

We do not use advertising or third-party marketing cookies. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, provide additional notice or choice.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
